Thank you, in advance, for your financial contribution to the work of ministry in and through 704 Church.

Giving

Of all the things Jesus said that scripture recorded, more than 25% of it was around money, wealth and possessions. Money is easily one of the most alluring idols in every society! It affects us before we’re born and continues to do so every single day of our lives.

The scriptural invitation for the people of God is to give that money back to God. In so doing, there’s a number of things that happen.

First, we remember that everything we have (including our money) was first God’s and was given to us, to be stewarded, managed, taken care of, as He would want it used. This includes our bodies, our very breath, our abilities and time, and definitely includes our money.

Second, when we give financially, we are actively breaking the chain of oppression that worship of money can create in our hearts. The world offers an unending list of things to do with your money; as Christians, we declare that our first priority is giving a portion back to God in thanks.

Third, we give primarily to and through the local church. The Resurrected Jesus set up the church as the primary means for the Kingdom of God to advance on earth, as it is in heaven. In supporting your church financially, you’re not simply giving money to the church, you’re entrusting it to God, and God is entrusting it to your church to work towards expanding His kingdom. If you have a responsibility to steward your wealth well, how much more does the church! We take this very seriously.
